COMMON SENSE IS NOT THAT COMMON ( To be found being applied )

COMMON SENSE IS NOT THAT COMMON
  • Sarbjit Singh and 2 others like this.
  • Dalvir GillThanx Amreet, that was prompt.
  • Prem S MannIt is usually common but just does not occur to us.
  • Dalvir GillMann Sahib, What I mean was that we rarely see Common Sense being used. In school, at work, home….everywhere, I hear people begging others to use CS, then I’ve to interject that not everybody has it, so they have no reason to be mad about someones lack of it saying,” U know, common sense is a rare commodity.” Someone’s personal schooling does help, but I find it be a inborn thing, either u have it or u don’t. Cruelty of nature is that the ones who have it continue to grow ( even there CS becomes profounder, ’cause of their CS), whereas who lack it, also are bound to lack so many other perks of intellectual life.
  • Ernest Albert · Friends with Charan Gill and 25 others

    @Dalveer ji,
ppl have never made this subtle connection between commonsense and their survival kit…
their CS is either hanging down there or in their purse
or in their ATM card,i would rather have sm1 here tell me WHAT IS CS.
(TEASER : u go on a bike to this lake with a frnd …after an hour u both realise u have fags/cigarattes but no matchbox, wat do u do)?
anyway let others b more generous with words than our friend up there.
  • Jenny GillDalvir…hit the target
  • Swarnjeet Singh Brar · 10 mutual friends

off all the senses common sense is the rarest///but bookish knowledge can not be dubbed as common sense
  • Guri Cheemarie sir ….
  • Ernest Albert · Friends with Charan Gill and 25 others

    @ALL,
    i ASKED A COMMON SENSICAL QUESTION :
how do u light ur cigarette on the lake without any matchbox ?
  • Dalvir GillErnest, I’ll use a lighter.
  • Ernest Albert · Friends with Charan Gill and 25 others

no…no…u just do not have that option…
i m trying to tell all the this CS is related to our survival too.
try once again n i will tell then….i have left a mile long hint…
    it actualyy happened with me.
  • Dalvir GillThen it’s not common sense, If there’s only one ans. to the problem. More like mathematics.
  • Ernest Albert · Friends with Charan Gill and 25 others

    @dalveer,
so from ur take it is bcoming evident that our survival has nothing to do with common sense,
    please correct me.
  • Dalvir GillI don’t know where u getting at, going on a bike to a lake. I don’t see any connection of this with survival or with common sense. If I need a cigarette, I’ll be smoking a cigarette — even if I don’t have a cigarette, forget matches or lighter. It’s ur assumption that this question of yours have to do anything with CS. These trick questions are dozen a dime in books for kids to amuse. Even the way u presenting it, one twist per episode is childish not child-like. Even if I give u scores of answers that’s not gonna satisfy u, unless I go to the end of that book and read it from pages, where all the answers are printed Upside -down.
The purpose of this post was to share a joke and hope some one will come up w/ s’tin like Prem Mann and Swarn Ji. But right after Swarn said s’tin about bookish knowledge, I don’t know why but, u’ve to come up with a bookish phrase, tightly knit, every word in it crafted with the back of pen in mouth. I was talking about the rarity of CS, and I M lacking it by not overlooking this kinda conversations, which backs my own point, even tho I M being the proven victim of that deficiency.
Ernest When ever I ask a question, I never know the answer to it. I crave to find it out by discussing. I don’t see any benefit in posing a question, to which, nobody but me know the answer, and then, after getting a yes to my “U all give up ?”, like a magician disclose it on all. I’ve millions of questions to and I have no answer for them, u added one more, but, I thought that’s gonna be the one with least priority I’ll seek answer for, but even on that I’s Wrong. Here Ernest, with my arms in air, I announce ” I gave up”, I’ll take my chances and include everyone with me,and on their behalf will say, ” So we all do, we gave up, we don’t know the answer to this most important que. on which our survival relies, Oh Mr.Albert, Enlighten us how will we light a cigarette up, when we don’t have a matches, lighter is not an option, can’t use lens of my glasses, and we were smart enough to go to a lake on a bike. Please tell us how, as our survival depends on it, How can we, how? Please tell us, so that we can carry on with our fun and start again trying to define CS and look into the matter that if CS is really that rare, and if yes then how come so many people are doing pretty fine without it. If it’s a fundamental necessity then have we defined it right, up till this day. It’s not gonna change this world or the definition, but I and maybe a friend or two will find out if CS too, like many things/concepts is also over-rated or not. Swarn’s comment, “….bookish knowledge can not be dubbed as common sense.” showed me hope to start a conv. in right direction, but, then u appeared ur bike under u, by a lake or on a lake, with a cigarette in ur lips, gesturing that u have no matches to light it up, in my stupidity I offered u a lighter, to which u said, “Don’t wanna use it, And u people can’t talk till my cigarette is lit.” Here the whole story. What u have to say about ur Cigarette, CS, How it’s related to the survival, how ur cigarette is related to the CS, to the survival. Ask urself as many questions u like and then answer them, I’ll find s’tin in that worth keeping and discard the rest, in the process I may end up with some wisdom. Info, data are the things I discard, they r not worth a damn for me. Here, my 40 mins are over.
  • Gurjinder Mangat@dalvir,
    come on yar,
    make dis common,
    thats common sense,
this story of cig is irritating..
  • Gurjinder Mangati had never heard “special sense”
    What it means?
  • Ernest Albert · Friends with Charan Gill and 25 others

    @Dalveer ,
did i ever say it was a trick question ?
anyway…since it is your discussion board and i can see that u refuse to make any connection between CS n survival so leave it…
btw sc is basically the domain of humans anecdotal mind…so these two need not be seen as two separate things…
  • Ernest Albert · Friends with Charan Gill and 25 others

    @ALL,
u all refuse to see the point…
i m not testing anybody here, dont need to at least here.
    leave aside cigarette,
u went to a jungle on ur bike and want to make a bonfire…
    no matchbox, no lighter…
  • Gurjinder Mangat@Earnest,aag lgana bahut asan hai ji, bujhane ki baat kijiye!

Waise yhan mujhe bandar se insan ban-ne ki kahani yad a rhi hai.
2 pathar takra ke chingari se aag,
    miles ago the answer is?
    if its nt,
i quit to ans dis question.

  • Ernest Albert · Friends with Charan Gill and 25 others

ptaa chal gya ji ki lighte /matchbox aur do pathran de vich kisse ne vi sir dard lain di kaifiyat nahi dikhayi/nibhayi…
tuhadi bike /uss ch pyaa petrol te spark plug wali lead kafi hai….
baki jethon tak aggbukhaun di gall hai…
hun bujhaun wala zmana nikal gya ji.
( par shak hai ki lokan nu agg lagi hoyi nazar vi aave…
    paani/hwa/dharti sab zehreele,
    panchhi, chidiyaan gayab…..
lokan nu eh agg lagi nahi dissdi te pher
    birbak vi kar laoo ji.
  • Dalvir Gill@ Swarn, That’s where I was going, info is not knowledge, certainly not wisdom. On the contrary, I feel that schooling today is numbing the wits instead of honing this Sense. The real reason for this post was to clarify myself if “General Knowledge” (GK) and “Common Sense” (CS) are one and same thing, or they compliment each other, or they or in the process of achieving them they stand in contradiction to each other?
If not have been exhausted already we can restart, shall we?
  • Dalvir GillI can take the irrelevant comments out or Mr. Albert can do it, if anyone thinks that can help.
  • Gurjinder Mangat@dalvir,
    CS is really not common,
it comes out of ur experience, interest, knowledge, imaginationgal ki a chatni a ji,
    swad keho jehi bandi a,
eh kyi cheeja te depend krdi a,
    its common although its special..
  • Arpna Gillwho doesn’t kno dat????????????
  • Dalvir GillHow does everyone differentiate CS & GK, if they r not same for u, back to my original question.
  • Dalvir GillArpana Ji, are u responding to the status or previous comment?
  • Kumar Pawandeepi thought cs means center stage…hahahahhahahhaha
  • Dalvir GillThanx Pawan, this joke came as a draft of fresh air.
  • Jenny GillIn regards to experience..imagination etc..
Incomplete ambiguous questions get similar answers..actually it’s my bad..I should have asked the question if the bike was a motorbike or a peddle bike..had I known it was a motor bike..my mind would have been racing…infact anyone’s mind would be churning…in the end..myself assuming the bike was a peddle bike??..Assumptions without facts..not so good!!…….anyone can make comments about anyones common sense…..it’s okay..we will keep moving..chugging along..choo choo..Enough sense to”Kirt Karni” “Vand shankna…naam,..
Regardless, in every experience there is a lesson learned??…We have to stop assuming without the full facts…before we jump to conclusions…well, for me at least .”problems di judd(root) hundi hai assumptions”
@Ernest ji..Pls…be more specific..as you mentioned only bike in the original post and no other options..as in lighter ..how did the bike become a patrol bike ….Again my bad..I should have asked…chaloo..experience ho gai ji..is baar vi….
  • Arpna Gill@Dalvir g to d post,,,,’coz i’m quite deficient in it,,,,,,
  • Dalvir Gill@arpana, Reason for the post was the common demand, like I mentioned by parents, teachers, bosses etc., without any care that not everyone has a developed sense of CS. Which made me think if they don’t know that it’s not that common.
